When can your child start preschool?
If your child turns four by June 30th in the year of their attendance, they are able to begin preschool at the start of the school year.
Enrolment Process
An expression of interest form is available in Term 3 from the front office. You will then be contacted by a Preschool staff member throughout Term 3 or 4 to discuss enrolment. The Nightcliff preschool adheres to the Department of Education Enrolment Management and Priority Enrolment Guidelines.

The Program
At Nightcliff we provide a child-centred play based educational program aimed at developing your child’s skills across a broad range of areas. We are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework
and the Northern Territory Preschool Curriculum. Each preschool session follows a structure allowing children opportunities to engage in a wide range of indoor and outdoor experiences.
Voluntary Parent Contributions
The Voluntary Parent Contribution is $50 per term. We use this contribution to provide morning and afternoon fruit in Term 1 for the children, art and craft supplies, cooking ingredients, books, puzzles and learning materials. The Department of Education only supply a small portion of our running costs, so we really appreciate your contribution. Payments can be paid at the front office by cash, cheque and credit card or by Direct Deposit into the school’s NAB account. Please see the front office for details.
Uniforms
Uniforms are popular at Preschool but not compulsory. School uniforms are available for purchase in the front office. Children are required to wear covered shoes.
Students need to bring a broad-brimmed hat to Preschool every day; these are available to purchase from the front office. If your child does not have a hat, they will have to play in the undercover areas during outdoor learning.
